Tenerife, the largest of the Canary Islands, has a wide array of facilities, activities and sights so no matter what your age and lifestyle is, there will always be something to experience. Diverse landscapes surround the beautiful Mount Teide National Park and with the majestic volcano to which the park owes it's name protecting the surrounding area, it is clear to see how it filters right to the coast. If you're in search of a more active holiday then you can try your hand at some watersports, like windsurfing, diving or big game fishing, or for land lovers there is horse riding, cycling and climbing. For those who just wish to relax there are plenty of modern marinas to stroll around and health and beauty centres with treatments galore. As evening arrives you can party your way long into the night, sampling the many bars and clubs of Playa de las Americas or settle in one of the tapas bars or restaurants in the quieter resorts and enjoy some people watching. The cuisine of Tenerife is no less diverse, ranging from local fish such as Vieja, and the carne fiesta, to superb cheeses, traditional cakes and excellent wines.
